Additional Writing Examples
Please feel free to view some of my more analytical research papers. All English majors at The College of New Jersey are required to complete two capstone literary courses. My first capstone class with Dr. Michael Robertson focused on Literary Modernism, Gender and Race. My thesis paper examined the ways in which the artistic works of Paul Cézanne, a turn-of-the-century Post-Impressionist painter, mirrored the literary works of the time.
The second paper comes from my second capstone class, Violence and Visuality, taught by Dr. Cassandra Jackson. The essay explores the role that women play in torture pictures taken from black lynchings and the American camp at Abu Ghraib.
Though rather lengthy - both papers are approximately 15 pages long - they demonstrate my researching ability and my analytical skills.
